My Experience With Classical Guitar Lessons
I have always dreamed of being a song writer. I want to write, not just lyrics, but the actually music as well. I had this vision of myself playing my own music on a guitar. I took guitar lessons briefly in high school but I got involved with other extracurricular actives and stopped going to my lessons.
Once I graduated from college and got a job, I wanted to get back into playing guitar again. My old guitar had been sitting in my bedroom closet for years, but after a tune up, it was as good as new. I really enjoyed taking guitar lessons with a professional teacher.
The feedback I received helped immensely. Unfortunately, a few months after starting lessons, I had a financial setback and needed to economize. The private lessons came to an end, but I still wanted to learn guitar.
I decided to buy a course that I could work on at home, but most of the ones that I found were unsatisfactory. A lot of them were too expensive. I did not have the money for private lessons, and I certainly did not have hundreds of dollars to spend on a program. Too many programs promised the impossible. I knew that there was no way anyone could learn to play guitar overnight.
I wanted a real program that would teach me how to master the guitar. I also had a hard time finding a program that was not just an introduction to the guitar. I had already learned how to play basic chords and songs, and I was ready to learn to play more advanced material.
One program that I borrowed from a friend offered lessons for my level of expertise, but it was so boring I could barely bring myself to use it. I wanted a home program that was fun as well as informative. It took some searching, but eventually I found a program that would take me from my current level of playing all the way to expert.
It was enjoyable to use as well. I found myself really looking forward to my daily practice sessions. I had a different step-by-step lesson every day, which kept my lessons from feeling too repetitive.
If you want to teach yourself guitar or simply want to improve your playing, you might have to try several programs before you find the one that is right for you. Read as many reviews as you can find and try to get a good sense of each program before you make a purchase.
That way, you are more likely to purchase a guitar lessons course that will help you succeed. If you find that right one and work hard at the program, you will be able to entertain your friends and family with your playing. I am getting better every day and soon, my dream of writing music for the guitar will become a reality, all thanks to a classical guitar course.
